      Our team

Jill Hogan initiated this project in August,1998, starting the building of the main structure by myself while staying in my caravan. As time went by some keen and wonderful assistants joined me

Albertus and Monica Arendorff, and Hennie Arendorff are my full time building team. We have trained various people in the village, and from all over South Africa and we draw on these people when need be.

      Anna, our gardener, works part-time.

Rodney Sandwith is our IT man

Kevin Jones is our Alternative Technology man,

Marijka Owen-Wahl concentrates on recycling and last year at our annual convergence put up a wonderful displays of Curitiba and recycling.

They all live in the village. Friends, family, and members of the community also offer their help, and we also have volunteers who come to stay and work for varying lengths of time.

In an area like South Africa with its vast water challenges, we partner with top water companies to bring the best, most innovative solutions.

With companies like Maskam Water and McGregor Alternative Technology Centre (MAT), we are helping people recycle and conserve their environment by way of their everyday living.  Supporting mother-nature by eliminating the environmental impact in supplying quality water and helping communities become more self-sufficient.

It isn’t just about a continent, country or region anymore.  The scarcity of water is being felt all over the world and the more we work  together to come up with solutions to better utilise what we have and minimising our ecological footprint, the better it is for the survival of our planet.

We need a good supply of water to keep the circle of life complete.  How will it be if the circle gets broken at the growth of plants and trees?

Maskam Water has consulted and worked with professionals from different parts of the world to bring you new and innovative ideas to help recycle and purify water:

      ·         Purification of  black- and grey-water

      ·         The reuse of water as many as 3 times.

      ·         Purifying of commercial wastewater for reuse.

      ·         Purification of water for household use through means of various filter systems and UV radiation.

      ·          Utilizing UV technology together with copper ionising for the purification of individual household and commercial swimming pool water.

      ·         The supply of DC pumps in solar powered systems for the provision of water to various industries and communities in rural areas.

This is just a few ways that we help everyday.  If it has to do with water we have it, and if we do not have it we will get it!
